Lifeguard

My whole family is a strong group of swimmers. As a kid, we never used swimmies or whatever, they just threw us in the pool and we swam over to the ladder. We would always be grasping for air by the time we reached it. And then struggled climbing out, only to realize you were being tossed back into the pool.

Thank god for that ladder.

It was the best lifeguard ever.

I’m sure the adults would never have saved us.

I bet I was rewarded for my hard work with a Klondike bar or two.
